From Lucy…

How did you meet?

We originally first saw each other in the Halifax Borough Market were I worked in a butchers and Matt was a market attendant. We never spoke but eye contact was made – Matt had the nicest bottom!!!
I first spoke to Matt on a night out, after a few drinks. This was in the Acapulco, Halifax, I plucked up the courage to go speak to him, we had a conversation (neither of us can remember what about!) and then both went on with the rest of our night. At the end of the night when the lights came on, Matt left (with another woman!!!!) whilst I stayed with my friends, I watched him leave and thought that was that. Next minute he came running back in asking for my telephone number, 10 years later the rest is history.

What’s your engagement story?

Christmas Eve 2015. Every Christmas Santa Claus does a Christmas eve hunt around the house where he leaves Christmas eve pajamas under the Christmas tree for the kids. This year Santa decided he wanted to do a hunt for me (Lucy) too. At the end of the hunt we (Lucy, Matt, Alisha & Lucas) sat around the Christmas tree opening our present. When it got to mine, Matt handed me a really heavy shoe sized box. I was so excited I thought it was a Yankee Candle as he had smashed mine accidently a few months back. I unwrapped the box and on top there was an envelope which said “It’s time for you to become Mrs Senior – Will you marry me?” and inside the box was a bottle of Champagne and 4 plastic champagne flutes as Matt had also got the kids some kids wine in the fridge. I cried for the remainder of the night in happiness.

Matt had text my dad previously to ask for my hand in marriage, my dad was the only person who knew.

How did you decide on your venue?

It had everything we wanted and the price was perfect.
It was big enough for the amount of guests, the food was what we wanted and mainly it had a big garden as we were having a summer wedding and wanted the kids to be able to play out.

What Was The Inspiration Behind Your Styling?

There wasn’t one really. I picked a colour scheme I liked (charcoal grey and yellow) and went with the flow. I’d say the styling was simple and plain as I didn’t want to go overboard.

Tell us more about the dress?

Perfect and everything I wanted.
It was the second dress I tried on and every other dress I tried on after this I kept referring to it. The only reason I didn’t go for it straight away was the price – it was far too much.
The last dress shop I had booked I stood there in a dress and said to my Bridesmaid I wanted the dress I had tried on second. We looked up stockiest of the dress and there was one close so we drove over. After getting lost on an industrial estate and down a country lane we finally found the shop. Although the shop was busy when we went in the lady said we could try the dress on no problem and she would be with us shortly. I tried the dress on again and burst in to tears it was definitely the one, it fitted perfectly. I loved my dress.

What was the most important aspect to you for your wedding day?

That everyone enjoyed themselves and had fun!
